This season Warner also put the capstone on a Test summer that started poorly but ended strongly with a pair of sublime hundreds against Pakistan in Melbourne and Sydney. Chelsea are now looking to up their pursuit of the Ecuador midfielder Moises Caicedo this week, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Will Brighton sell Caicedo this summer?

The west London side could see some major changes at Stamford Bridge over the course of the summer with the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino in recent weeks.

And one change could come in midfield with the potential departure of Mason Mount to Manchester United.

It is believed the Blues are looking to bring in a fee in the region of £65m for their homegrown 24-year-old this summer.

Amid reports of Mount's potential exit, it is believed they are keen to add to their midfield this summer with Caicedo a player who has been heavily linked.

The Brighton midfielder has been linked with a potential move away from the south coast for a number of months now with Arsenal also credited with an interest.

Despite putting pen to paper on a new deal after the January interest, it is believed Caicedo has been promised by Roberto De Zerbi and the Seagulls that he can leave this summer.

And speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano has claimed the Blues are now set to up their negotiations with Brighton to secure the services of the 21-year-old:

"Exclusive information. Chelsea are now starting the negotiations for Moises Caicedo. It will happen this week, let's see if today [Wednesday]/tomorrow but it's direct negotiation now Chelsea Brighton for Moises Caicedo. Direct club-to-club negotiation. So we wait for the bid, we wait for a direct conversation. We know that personal terms are not an issue."

How much is Moises Caicedo worth?

The Londoners could be set to receive a healthy sum of money over the coming weeks with the potential sale of Mount.

And it is worth considering the fact the Seagulls will be well aware of the financial power behind a club like Chelsea.

Todd Bohely and co spent massively over the course of last season and have already made a number of sales this summer to bring in some money and relieve their wage bill.

It is believed Brighton have set a £90m valuation on their Ecuadorean this summer if they are to allow him to leave.

And they certainly sit in the driving seat in any negotiations this summer with the player now having signed a new deal to take his stay up until 2027.

However, the midfielder is seemingly keen to move on to bigger things with him previously showing a desire to leave in the January transfer window.

Although Brighton are believed to be open to allowing him leave over the coming weeks, it is apparent they will not be willing to allow Chelsea to get a bargain for the midfielder.

The Supreme Court-appointed committee of administrators has shut down the offices of Anurag Thakur and Ajay Shirke after deeming them to be non-functional. Considering how both of them had been removed from the BCCI, the committee asked their staff in Delhi and Pune respectively to leave as well.Diana Edulji, a member of the committee, told ESPNcricinfo: “There is no president, and no secretary, so those offices are not functional. What is the need to have staff in a non-functional office? So they have been asked to leave and they have shut down the offices. This was minuted in the meeting on February 1 in Delhi where all four members [of the committee of administrators] were there.”BCCI media manager Nishant Arora was part of the staff in the Delhi office. It is understood he was given the option to work out of the board’s headquarters in Mumbai, but he declined and submitted his resignation instead.Edulji said any decision on Arora, who was attached with the Indian team’s support staff, would be made by board CEO Rahul Johri. Arora, according to his profile on , has been with the BCCI since May 2015 and was also tournament media manager for the World T20 in India last year.

Chelsea and Brighton & Hove Albion have a "great relationship" and are "talking about a deal behind the scenes" for Ecuadorian superstar Moises Caicedo, claims transfer insider Ben Jacobs.

However, the biggest signing the Pensioners look set to make over the coming weeks is midfield maestro Caicedo, who has been hailed as the "crown jewel", with the Guardian reporting that the Seagulls want £100m.

Speaking to Football FanCast, he said: "The clubs have got a great relationship and rather than going back and forwards with formal offers, they're very much talking about a deal behind the scenes to try and see what is possible, verbally and slightly more informally.

"So, when, and I think it is fair to say when, Chelsea place a formal offer, again, for Moises Caicedo, there's a higher confidence that there'll be a framework there for success or just an offer actually being accepted.

Chelsea are a club that has become synonymous with free-spending and extravagance since their takeover by Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich in 2003.

Aston Villa have seen an opening bid for Moussa Diaby rejected by Bayer Leverkusen despite the Frenchman's desire to move to the Premier League, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Is Diaby joining Villa?

Having just completed a deal for Villarreal's Pau Torres – a major coup for the club – Villa are now turning their attention towards another potentially huge signing this summer.

Unai Emery's pulling power is already well documented and it appears some of Europe's best are excited about the prospect of working with the Spanish coach.

One of those is Diaby of Leverkusen who has continually impressed in the Bundesliga after arriving from Paris Saint-Germain in 2019.

The 24-year-old winger, now working under Xabi Alonso at the BayArena, has been linked with a move away from Die Werkself this summer and could be on his way to Villa Park.

According to Romano, Diaby is a "top target" for Villa but the Midlands club have already seen their first proposal rejected outright by Leverkusen.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano claimed: "Moussa Diaby [is] one of the most interesting news of the day because I can confirm that Moussa Diaby is a top target for Aston Villa.

"They signed Pau Torres, very important signing. They are doing a very clear and nice job with Monchi, with Unai Emery, and they submitted a bid for Moussa Diaby. Was not €45m from what I'm hearing, [it was] €35m plus add-ons. This is what they bid from Aston Villa to Bayer Leverkusen.

"Bayer Leverkusen said 'no', they rejected the proposal, but I am told that the conversation is still ongoing between Villa and Leverkusen. So, Moussa Diaby, who for example has been for a long time in the list at Arsenal, is one of the players appreciated. [He's] already said 'yes' to Aston Villa. So, Moussa Diaby wants Premier League football."

It is likely that Villa will return with an improved bid for Diaby with Romano stating that the approximately £30m bid they submitted would not be enough to tempt Leverkusen. With a contract running until 2025, the German side are in no rush to sell one of their star players.

The signings of Torres and Youri Tielemans, the latter on a free transfer, have shown that Villa mean business this summer and are willing to invest in Emery and his squad.

Diaby would be another wonderful addition to a squad needing depth for the Europa Conference League next season, with the right-winger having attracted interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe in the past.

How good is Diaby?

Another potential superstar spurned by Paris Saint-Germain after coming through the French club's academy, Diaby has been sensational since arriving at Leverkusen.

A right-sided winger desperate to cut in on his favoured left foot, Diaby has managed 49 goals and 48 assists in 172 matches with Die Werkself. Last season the speedster managed 18 combined goals and assists in 33 Bundesliga games, making him one of the division's top contributors.

The nine-cap French international is a menace for opposition left-backs with his direct running, pace and trickery causing defensive headaches. Compared to other wingers and attacking midfielders in the Bundesliga last season, his forward-thinking attitude really stood out.

Diaby was in the top 5% per 90 for progressive carries and the top 10% for carries into the penalty area, as well as sitting in the top 14% for passes and crosses into the box.

His willingness to run at defenders is one of his key strengths and his ability to cut back onto his wand of a left foot and unleash chaos makes him well-suited to the Premier League.
