انتهت مساء يوم الأربعاء مباراة مثيرة بين فريقي برشلونة وباريس سان جيرمان في خضم منافسات بطولة دوري أبطال أوروبا، موسم 2025/26، مرحلة الدوري.
واستضاف برشلونة خصمه باريس سان جيرمان على ملعب “مونتجويك” في الجولة الثانية من مرحلة الدوري من البطولة.

وتمكن باريس سان جيرمان من تحقيق فوز قاتل ومثير على برشلونة، بهدفين لهدف، بفضل جونزالو راموس الذي سجل هدف الانتصار في الدقيقة 90.
وحسبما أُعلن، حصل لاعب باريس سان جيرمان، نونو مينديز، على جائزة رجل مباراة برشلونة يوم الأربعاء، بفضل أدائه الرائع أمام كتيبة هانز فليك.
وقالت مجموعة المراقبين الفنيين في الاتحاد الأوروبي لكرة القدم: “دافع نونو مينديز بشكل ممتاز ضد لامين يامال في المواقف الفردية طوال معظم المباراة، كما بدا خطيرًا للغاية في الهجوم، وصنع الهدف الأول لباريس”.
Tottenham have opened talks to sign another player in a “separate deal from Savinho”, according to Fabrizio Romano on Tuesday, with the Lilywhites moving to support new manager Thomas Frank with late fresh faces before deadline day.
Spurs recently lost Son Heung-min to LAFC, who drew the curtain on his memorable 10-year stay at the club with an emotional farewell in Seoul, while star playmaker James Maddison is set to be absent for most of 2025/2026 with an ACL rupture.

This series of blows comes amid Dejan Kulusevski’s lengthy lay-off with a knee injury too, so the need for new attacking options is glaringly obvious.
Daniel Levy and technical director Johan Lange attempted to shore up Frank’s forward line with a £60 million deal for Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White last month, and the deal was so advanced that Spurs even had a medical booked in for the Englishman.
However, after Forest blocked the move, threatened legal action and convinced Gibbs-White to commit his future to the City Ground, Tottenham were forced back to square one in pursuit of a new number 10.
With just three weeks to go until the transfer window closes on September 1, Spurs have now upped the ante in search of proven attackers to fill the voids left by Kulusevski, Son and Maddison.
On Sunday evening, it was first reported by Romano that Tottenham opened club-to-club talks with Man City over a deal for Savinho, and the Brazil international winger is open to moving down south in what would be a statement deal.
The 21-year-old is expected to cost in excess of £45 million, but considering Savinho’s age, flair, pace, proven top-level experience and contribution going forward at Eastlands, this could be a very good value deal.
Savinho bagged 13 assists in all competitions for City last season, and was a key member of the Girona side that finished third in La Liga and briefly contended for the title in 2023/2024 – racking up 21 goal contributions.
His playing style can be likened to that of ex-City and Leicester star Riyad Mahrez, with the prospect of him joining Spurs a pretty tantalising one for supporters.
Now, in another bit of very promising news, Tottenham are in negotiations for Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze as well.

Frank’s side have been linked with a potential swoop for the 27-year-old in the last few days and earlier this summer, but discussions are reliably believed to be underway.
According to Romano via X on Tuesday morning, Spurs talks for Eze have reopened, with Levy and co trying to sign the England international again as they also work on a deal for Savinho simultaneously.
What’s more, Eze is also keen on a switch to N17, dealing a major worry to arch rivals Arsenal, who’ve been actively pursuing a deal for some time.
The former QPR star’s 14 goals and 11 assists in all competitions last term explain just half the story, with Eze spearheading Palace to their first ever major trophy by scoring their FA Cup final-winning strike at Wembley in May.
He is by far Palace’s standout attacking asset. Eze averaged more shots at goal, key passes and successful take-ons per 90 than any of his teammates in the top flight last season, with the CAM also able to fill Tottenham’s ‘locally trained’ Champions League quota in another potential boost.
There are plenty of reasons for Tottenham to move, and even more reasons for fans to clamor for his signature.
With seven goals conceded, one goal scored and no points on the board, it would be fair to say that West Ham United’s Premier League season has got off to just about the worst start possible.
Graham Potter’s side looked utterly hopeless on Friday night, were played through with ease and are in desperate need of some serious steel in the middle of the park, someone like Declan Rice.
While things didn’t always go his way in East London, the former Hammers captain was determination personified, and if he were still in the side, we do not doubt that the situation would be far better at present.
Fortunately, while the Englishman is plying his trade elsewhere in the capital, it now looks like West Ham are eyeing a late move for someone who could be their new Rice.

Fortunately, the club seem to have realised the same thing, as they appear to have identified the perfect recruit, someone who could be their new Rice.
At least that is according to a recent report from Foot Mercato, which has claimed West Ham are still very interested in Soungoutou Magassa.
The report reaffirms previous claims that the Hammers made an offer of around €16m for the Frenchman, about £14m, but that Nottingham Forest have made an even better offer of €17m, about £15m, and that Atalanta are now interested as well.
It looks like the Irons are going to have something of a battle on their hands to land the AS Monaco ace, but he seems like he’d be worth it, especially as he could be their new Rice.

Now, while fans obviously shouldn’t expect Magassa to be on the same level as Rice to begin with, there are some apparent similarities between the two.

The first is that, like the former West Ham captain, the young Frenchman first started as an impressive centre-back, before slowly moving up the pitch and finding his best position at the base of midfield, as a six.
Therefore, if he does end up making the move to East London before the window slams shut next week, he’d be doing so to fill in where the Englishman thrived during his time at the club.
However, the similarities go deeper than just a position, as, just like the former Irons star, the tremendously “effortlessly” brilliant Monaco ace, as dubbed by respected analyst Ben Mattinson, is both a monstrous presence in the midfield and a technician with the ball.
We can clearly see these two parts of his game when examining some of his outstanding underlying numbers.

For example, when it comes to the defensive side of the game, FBref ranks him in the top 1% of midfielders in Europe for ball recoveries, the top 2% for tackles plus interceptions and the top 6% for passes blocked per 90.
When it comes to his ability with the ball, he’s ranked in the top 7% of midfielders for switches, the top 10% for through balls and the top 12% for successful take-ons, also all per 90.
Finally, despite still being so young, Mattinson has described the midfielder as being “composed when under pressure” and someone who has a “forward-thinking mindset,” which sounds an awful lot like the former Hammers star.
Ultimately, West Ham need young and dynamic midfield reinforcements this summer, and even though he’s not reached his full potential just yet, Magassa looks like he’d be the perfect addition, especially as he could be the club’s next Rice.

South Africa’s bowling stocks have taken another hit after Gerald Coetzee, who was expected to be named as Anrich Nortje’s replacement in the the Champions Trophy squad, missed Joburg Super Kings’ match against Pretoria Capitals with a hamstring injury on Thursday and was subsequently ruled out of the remainder of the SA20 on SundayCSA, however, said Coetzee “remains in contention for selection” for the Champions Trophy and that a decision on his inclusion would be made in the first week of February. The deadline for submitting the final squads to the ICC is February 11.Coetzee had played JSK’s previous match against Durban’s Super Giants at Kingsmead, which was his first competitive game since the Test against Sri Lanka in Durban, where he injured his groin. He was ruled out of the rest of the international summer, after he had come back from a hip niggle and a 12-week conditioning block. He did not play any cricket between a game at the MLC in July (his only one in the competition) and a domestic match for the Titans in October. It was confirmed by South Africa’s white-ball coach Rob Walter that Coetzee had been in line for a Champions Trophy place but left out in favour of the more experienced Nortje. With Nortje sidelined with a back problem and Coetzee now injured as well, Walter, who is the sole selector of the team, will have to mine the depths of the reserves.With Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi, Marco Jansen and Wiaan Mulder already in the squad, Walter could look to 18-year old tearaway Kwena Maphaka or South Africa’s most recent ODI cap, Corbin Bosch, if he is looking for pace or may have to move away from that entirely. Death-bowling specialist Ottneil Baartman is another option with almost everyone else in contention currently injured.Nandre Burger will not return to action this summer after suffering a lower-back stress fracture while Lizaad Williams is recovering from knee surgery. Daryn Dupavillon, who was playing for Pretoria Capitals, is also ruled out of the SA20 with a hamstring concern.Dupavillon is the eighth seamer to be injured this summer. The others were Ngidi (groin), Coetzee, Mulder (broken finger), Nortje (broken toe, then back), Williams, Baartman and Burger. Chelsea certainly bounced back from their opening day bore draw in the Premier League versus Crystal Palace when making the short trip to West Ham United on Friday night.
Despite initially going 1-0 down to the Hammers, the Blues never looked short on confidence at the London Stadium, with a 5-1 demolition job the final outcome, which left ex-Chelsea boss Graham Potter shellshocked in the home side’s dug-out.
Away from the impressive displays of Joao Pedro and many others against the Irons, however, Chelsea do look to still be in the market for an exciting attacking addition or two.
Indeed, they look to be close on landing long-term target Xavi Simons’ signature, but he isn’t the only statement addition up top that the Blues seem to be interested in.
Chelsea tempted to make bid for £80m star
It has been a long, drawn-out saga involving BlueCo and the Dutchman this summer.
This could soon come to an end, though, with the Blues – according to Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg – planning to offer the captivating 22-year-old a contract until 2031, with personal terms already verbally agreed between RB Leipzig and his potential new employers.
Chelsea will have to wave goodbye to reserve figures such as Christopher Nkunku before a move for Simons can be finalised; however, with Aston Villa now touted a surprise next destination for the out-of-sorts Frenchman, as Unai Emery’s men are reportedly interested in a deal.
The Blues could test relations between the two clubs even more by finally landing the services of Villans superstar Morgan Rogers, with GIVEMESPORT revealing that the West London outfit are tempted by a last minute splurge for the Englishman.
Having just been awarded PFA Young Player of the Year, a deal for Rogers to leave Villa Park behind for Stamford Bridge wouldn’t be cheap, with the report stating that a move would only get off the ground if Chelsea were willing to fork out an amount in the excessive £80m ballpark.
How Rogers is a dream Simons alternative
Maresca’s ambitious Blues might well view this as a better deal to chase after than persisting with Simons, with Rogers more than a dream alternative to the Leipzig number ten, when you consider his Premier League capabilities already.
Of course, Simons did have a standout 2024/25 season himself in the Bundesliga.
Across a mere 25 games, the breathtaking 22-year-old would consistently dazzle German top-flight defences, culminating in him picking up a hefty tally of ten goals and seven assists just in league action.
However, Chelsea have been burnt here before – with both Nkunku and Timo Werner going on to be major flops in the Premier League after leaving Leipzig behind – leading to the same anxieties popping up involving Simons.
Therefore, despite the fact Rogers will cost a weighty £80m or more to get through the door, the “sensational” attacker – as he’s been previously lauded by journalist Eduardo Hagn – could be the preferred last-minute option, particularly if Villa are willing to part ways, while the Simons transfer saga rumbles on.
