نال لاعب تشيلسي أوليفيه جيرو الإشادة من المدرب فرانك لامبارد بعد تألقه في مباراة الأمس أمام إشبيلية في بطولة دوري أبطال أوروبا.

وواصل: “جيرو لاعب محترف في نهاية المطاف، هو لا يلعب بشكل منتظم، ولكن أدائه منح اللاعبين الشباب دليل قوي على أهمية مواصلة التدريب الجيد، لقد كان أدائه كاملًأ”.

وتابع: “هل سيشارك أمام ليدز؟ علينا أن نرى، لقد سجل أربعة أهداف في المباراة، الأمر لا يتعلق بأدائه فقط، ولكن عندما تلعب معه وتستغل قوته وسرعته، فهذا يحقق توازن حقيقي في باقي أعضاء الفريق”.

Lukaku agrees terms with Inter

According to the Sun, Romelu Lukaku has agreed personal terms with Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan. The deal is reported to be worth £180,000 a week. The two clubs are still in negotiations, with United wanting £75m for the Belgian.

Brooks on Solskjaer’s radar

The Sun is reporting that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is eyeing Bournemouth’s David Brooks. The report states, however, that the Cherries are reluctant to let the player leave and would request a fee in the region of £50m to even consider a sale.

Juve want to swap Costa for Pogba

Juventus want to include Douglas Costa in a deal for United’s Paul Pogba according to Calciomercato. Juve are looking to drive down the cash price of the potential transfer of the Frenchman and have told Costa that they are looking to move him on this summer.

صحيفة “توتو ميركاتو” الإيطالية، أفادت بأن وكيل هاكان، جوردون ستيبتش التقى مع إدارة ميلان لأول مرة منذ شهر.

وأشارت الصحيفة بأن المفاوضات إيجابية بشأن تجديد عقد اللاعب صاحب الـ26 عامًا، خاصة بعد تألقه ورغبة ميلان في الحفاظ عليه.

وسينتقل أوزيل إلى صفوف فريق فناربخشة في موسم الانتقالات الشتوي الحالي حيث وصل بالفعل إلى تركيا أمس الأول.

ورغم ذلك، فإن أرتيتا صرّح بأنهم سيفتقدون جودة لاعب مثل أوزيل في ملعب الإمارات.

وقال أرتيتا في تصريحات نشرتها شبكة “فوتبول لندن” الإنجليزية: “أوزيل في تركيا، سيخضع للفحص الطبي قبل اتمام الصفقة”.

وأضاف: “سنفتقد جودة أوزيل، إنه لاعب مميز للغاية وله تاريخ كبير جدًا في هذا النادي”.

وواصل: “كما قلت هو يخضع للفحص الطبي وهناك بعض الأوراق التي يجب القيام به، عند استكمال الصفقة سنصدر بيانًا رسميًا”.

Wolves’ midfield was one of their areas of strength last season with Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho playing 35 and 38 games respectively in the Premier League.

The pair of them were outstanding in the middle of the park and were complemented well by Leander Dendoncker throughout the second half of the campaign.

They all offered varying qualities that helped to establish their side as the best of the rest, finishing seventh in the league.

However, that could be about to be broken up if a reported target joins.

On the chalkboard

Late last week, Calciomercato claimed that Wolves had an interest in promising French midfielder Lucas Tousart.

The 22-year-old missed a penalty in France’s opening game of the U21 European Championships but he has clear talent after playing as often as 30 times in Ligue 1 for Lyon last term.

But if he joined, how could he split up the current trio that operates so well in Nuno Santo’s side?

Well, Tousart is a defensive midfielder by trade although similarly to Neves, he can play further forward in the middle of the park.

Wolves’ Portuguese star made 2.1 tackles per game in the league last term. In comparison, the £18m-rated Frenchman made 2.5 in domestic action whilst making a further three per match in Europe.

That means that the latter could well be preferred in a deeper playmaking role, likely at the expense of Dendoncker, leaving Neves to be given a different responsibility.

Considering the former’s passing qualities and nous in front of goal, he can quite easily be utilised a little further forward, focusing on the tremendous attributes he can offer around the final third.

Neves has a habit of scoring goals from outside the box. As of 11 August 2018, ten of his 11 senior goals had been from distance, while two of his four goals in the Premier League last season were from beyond 18 yards.

Both players are the same age but Tousart only has three goals in his entire career. The Wolves man beat that tally last season alone.

Neves tended to float around deep pockets in the Wolves midfield last season, but the potential arrival of the Lyon man could possibly alter the way he plays to Nuno’s advantage.

It would give Neves more freedom but they wouldn’t be sacrificing his ball retention if they signed Tousart to cover the role he’s previously been playing.

The start of the 2019/20 Premier League campaign is on the horizon and kit designers across the country have released the away attires for this season, but where do they rank from worst to best?

Home kits were released earlier this summer and it was Manchester United who topped the pile with an excellent design. However, Chelsea found themselves at the foot of the rankings with a hideous home kit.

Fans often anxiously await kit releases; some have been filled with excitement while others have settled for disappointment. Piecing together attire to please the whole fan base is tricky, but not impossible – a few designs in this ranking exemplify that.

So, where does each Premier League away kit rank?

Watford and Bournemouth – Unclassified

Both the Cherries and the Hornets are yet to release their away attire for the forthcoming campaign. However, it is late July and are deservedly placed at the foot of the rankings for keeping the fans waiting too long.

Let’s hope they don’t forget to turn up for the first day of the season…

18. Norwich City

I cannot comprehend what the designers were thinking with this kit. A revolting mix of colours does not work in the slightest and the sponsor on the sleeve is just comical.

Nothing about these colours resemble the club at all and the patterns on the shoulders make it that more hideous, in my opinion.

17. Southampton

Southampton were let down with their home kit by using a bold, black design at the top of the shirt, and they followed the same pattern for their away kit. The yellow and black colours do not look good in this design and, with the accompanying yellow shorts and socks, I really cannot give it many positives.

The sponsor in the middle of the shirt certainly doesn’t help things, but even without a sponsor, this style and colour of shirt would be low down on my rankings anyway.

16. Newcastle United

Newcastle produced a dreadful home kit and this is only marginally better. The white colours of the Puma stand well with the green colours, but the top of the shirt completely ruins the design.

Why they thought that pattern was a good is baffling and it does not correlate with the rest of the kit. The large sponsor in the middle of the shirt is off-putting, also.

15. Burnley

This, unfortunately, is an example of getting it horribly wrong. The scratched, interchanging colours at the top-half of the shirt looks horrific and does not match the claret-coloured sponsors. The light blue shade is good, but the desperate attempt to make a unique design at the front of the shirt completely ruins it.

I think Umbro have produced some excellent kits for the 2019/20 season, but this certainly isn’t one of them.

14. Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace are cherished with the colours of red and blue for their kit designs but, unfortunately, have not used them very successfully here. The striped pattern down the middle of the shirt is bizarre and random which does not work at all.

The best advice for the Eagles is to go back to basics – a more simplistic-striped design would have been much better.

13. Aston Villa

The light blue works well – just as Burnley’s did – but the front, claret sponsorship is very distracting. If the socks were made the same colour as the shirt, it would have brought the kit together more effectively.

It is not the worst kit in the ranking, but it is pretty mediocre to say the least.

Carl Jenkinson hasn’t enjoyed much success over the past three seasons, making just 22 first-team appearances (Arsenal and Birmingham City combined, calculated on Transfermarkt). However, seeing as he’s still only 27-years-old, he could make a great addition at Parkhead, and here’s why.

You Bhoys need to start preparing yourself for the exit of Kieran Tierney if you haven’t done so already, as the deal for him to leave for Arsenal may be edging closer with negotiations reportedly (as per Evening Standard) ongoing. It might not be too bad, though, should Lennon benefit by bringing in Jenkinson, as Football Insider have claimed that the Hoops are interested in the defender.

It makes sense for all parties this one too. Tierney, having starred for the Hoops in their treble-treble, looks ready to step up to the Premier League, especially after being one of their highest rated players in last season’s Europa League campaign, via WhoScored. Then there’s Arsenal who need to make changes if they are to challenge for a top four spot after shipping 12 goals more than fourth-placed Spurs last season, and the pair could work well together.

Then we come across to the Celtic side of things. We already know that Mikael Lustig has left Parkhead to join Gent on a three-year deal (BBC), but with Tierney also potentially leaving and Emilio Izaguirre departing as his contract expires (Daily Record in May), full-backs are a necessity. With that in mind, bringing one in as part of the Tierney exit is a masterstroke.

Granted, it may be Jenkinson who hasn’t proved to be the most amazing player over his eight-year Arsenal spell, a lot of which he’s been anonymous for, but he can still play. His £45,000 per week wages, Spotrac, will need revising in Glasgow, but we’ve seen that he can still do a job when fit and firing, as he helped the Gunners keep clean sheets in four of his eight senior appearances in the season just gone. Also, his versatility could help a Celtic side that are still trying to get over Dedryck Boyata’s departure. He can play anywhere across the back four, at left-back, centre-back and of course at right-back, according to Transfermarkt, so he could be useful.

أفادت تقارير صحفية إسبانية، أن نادي باريس سان جيرمان، يرغب في تجديد عقد كيليان مبابي، براتب خرافي لتحصينه من ناديي ريال مدريد وليفربول.

كيليان مبابي ينتهي عقده مع باريس سان جيرمان في صيف 2022، ويعتبر هدفًا للثنائي ريال مدريد وليفربول لضمه.

خوسيه ألفاريز الصحفي بشبكة “إل شرينجيتو” الإسبانية، أكد أن نادي باريس سان جيرمان قدم عرضا خرافيا للاعب الفرنسي، للحفاظ عليه.

وكشف خوسيه، أن باريس سان جيرمان يرغب في تمديد عقد كيليان مبابي 4 سنوات، براتب سنوي 30 مليون يورو، وهو الراتب الذي سيكون على ليفربول وريال مدريد تقديمه للمهاجم الفرنسي.

وأشار خوسيه، أن كيليان مبابي ليس لديه مانع من الاستمرار مع باريس سان جيرمان، ولكن قرر تأجيل محادثات تجديد العقد حتى نهاية الموسم الجاري.
