Everton travel to West Bromwich Albion on Thursday looking to move inside the top-four of the Premier League standings, for a few hours at least.

The Toffees will move above Liverpool, Chelsea and West Ham United and into the Champions League positions with a win at the Hawthorns, before Jurgen Klopp’s Reds and Thomas Tuchel’s Blues face off at Anfield later tonight.

Everton have played one game fewer than their rivals for a UEFA berth and will hope to put the pressure on their competition, but Carlo Ancelotti faces a wealth of fitness concerns ahead of his side’s midweek contest.

With the Goodison Park natives also in action at Stamford Bridge on Monday, Ancelotti will be expected to rest and rotate his squad. So, with that in mind, here’s a potential line-up that the Italian tactician could name against Sam Allardyce’s Baggies…

Ancelotti has shown a willingness to rotate his goalkeeper options this season and may have sought to afford regular number one Jordan Pickford a break against West Brom, but may be forced to stick with the England international due to concerns over Robin Olsen’s fitness.

The AS Roma loanee is one of several Everton players facing late fitness tests to feature at the Hawthorns, where defender Yerry Mina plus midfielders Fabian Delph and Jean-Philippe Gbamin will be unavailable due to respective calf, tendon and Achilles injuries.

“We are going to check these players in training to see if they will be available or not,” Ancelotti said on Wednesday, regarding Seamus Coleman, James Rodriguez, Tom Davies and Olsen.

“For sure, we will not have Mina, Delph and Gbamin. The other players, we will also check.”

Ancelotti added that Allan is also a doubt following his return from a hamstring injury, noting: “After a few months out, he was maybe not 100 per cent fit [against Southampton].

“I think the staff worked hard on him. He was in good condition. He was motivated and wanted to play. Of course, he is a player we have to check today [Wednesday] to see if he can play against West Brom.”

With Davies being ruled unavailable, alongside the absences of Delph and Gbamin and doubts about Allan, that might force Ancelotti into naming Abdoulaye Doucoure and Andre Gomes as his sole engine room occupants at the Hawthorns.

The pair opened Monday’s win over Southampton beside Allan, while Mina’s injury plus the concerns over Coleman could see that Mason Holgate, Michael Keane, Ben Godfrey and Lucas Digne feature in an unchanged backline despite the need for rotation.

Ancelotti playing Rodriguez’s return cautiously after resting the Colombian at home to the Saints will likely see Gylfi Sigurdsson remain in the creative midfield role, joined by Richarlison and a return for £50,000-per-week winger Alex Iwobi in place of Allan.

Top-scorer Dominic Calvert-Lewin may be afforded a rest against West Brom, after the “determined” striker, per Joleon Lescott, delivered a tireless display against Ralph Hasenhuttl’s St. Mary’s natives during his first start since returning from a hamstring injury.

The England international sitting out his side’s trip to the Hawthorns will likely offer January arrival Joshua King a chance to earn his first start in royal blue, amid claims the Merseyside outfit will look to retain the Norway international beyond the end of the season.

وأشارت إلى أن المسؤولين بالاتحاد الإنجليزي، فحصوا، صباح الخميس ما فعله توخيل، وما إذا كان تجاوز ما يتطلب توقيع إجراءات تأديبية.

شارك مهاجم فريق تشيلسي روميلو لوكاكو في تدريبات النادي الإنجليزي اليوم الإثنين، بعد العاصفة التي أثارها من خلال المقابلة الصادمة التي أجراها مؤخرًا.

واندلعت موجة حادة من الانتقادات ضد لوكاكو بسبب المقابلة الصحفية التي أجراها نهاية الأسبوع الماضي.

وأكد لوكاكو في تصريحاته الصحفية إنه ليس سعيدًا في تشيلسي حاليًا، وإنه لم يكن يرغب في مغادرة إنتر ميلان في الصيف الماضي، بل ويتمنى العودة إلى سان سيرو مرة أخرى.

وقرر توماس توخيل، المدير الفني لفريق تشيلسي، معاقبة لوكاكو عن طريق استبعاده من مباراة الأمس ضد ليفربول في بطولة الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز.

David Moyes must rue West Ham United not signing long-term target Franck Kessie in 2020, as the Premier League side now face a £43m price tag to land the AC Milan midfielder.

What’s the word?

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, via Milan Live, the San Siro outfit plan to lock Kessie down with a new contract, as the Ivory Coast international is an increasingly important pillar of Stefano Pioli’s side.

Kessie is considered to be the leader of the Rossoneri and has only missed one of AC’s 26 Serie A fixtures this season, starting 24, while enjoying his best campaign in front of goal yet.

The 24-year-old has found the back of the net nine times and provided three assists to date, eclipsing the seven-goal haul achieved over 34 games in the 2018/19 term and creating the same volume of chances for his red-and-black shirted teammates.

But Kessie’s performances have not gone unnoticed across the continent, with West Ham plus London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur frequently showing an interest in the £69,000-per-week powerhouse.

The Premier League trio would also now face heightened competition if they look to launch efforts to sign Kessie at the end of the season with Real Madrid keen, but any side is likely to be met with a €50m (£43m) asking price.

Milan are very much loath to losing the 44-cap international, and it is added that they plan to extend his contract through to 2026 with his current terms set to expire next year.

A huge blunder by West Ham

News of Milan slapping a €50m valuation on Kessie will come as a hammer blow to West Ham in their long-running hope of bringing the midfield enforcer to the London Stadium.

It also makes the Irons’ decision not to sign the 6ft beast last summer a huge blunder, as reports by TEAMtalk claimed Kessie was on offer for around £25m and that the asking price had been set before the coronavirus pandemic changed the footballing landscape.

That valuation was backed up by reports by Calciomercato, via Football-Italia, later in the year, after they claimed that AC rebuffed Gennaro Gattuso’s intent to be reunited with Kessie at SSC Napoli through a €30m (£25.5m) asking rice.

West Ham would have likely faced competition from Arsenal and Wolverhampton Wanderers, too, with the Molineux outfit also linked, but may have struck a deal with Milan for £18m less than they could now be obliged to pay if they still want the player.

It obviously remains to be seen if the Hammers are now willing to step forward and meet the Rossoneri’s demands, which would see Moyes acquire an engine room component lauded by those he works with.

“He never gets tired, he has an incredible energy,” Ismael Bennacer told MilanTV, via quotes by Football-Italia, earlier in the year. “We must take advantage of it.”

A festa pelo ouro olímpico na Rio-2016 está só começando. Neste domingo, em um evento na Barra da Tijuca, um show do cantor Thiaguinho reuniu Neymar, Renato Augusto, Rafinha, outros jogadores da Seleção Brasileira de futebol, Bruninho, do vôlei, e até Adriano Imperador para uma celebração especial.

O show do cantor paulista, que começou por volta de 20h30, no Itanhangá, na festa conhecida como “Tardezinha”, na The Beach House, teve a participação de Neymar a partir das 21h. O craque da seleção que conquistou o ouro olímpico inédito contra a Alemanha no futebol participou do show em diversos momentos, inclusive cantando e conduzindo a banda com músicas a seu gosto. Quando foi chamado ao palco, Neymar convocou o companheiro Renato Augusto, e ambos puxaram cantos juntos ao público.

Além do famoso “ô, o campeão voltou”, Neymar e Renato Augusto acompanharam o canto da torcida tupiniquim em provocação aos argentinos: “Mil gols, mil gols…. Só o Pelé, só o Pelé…” e pararam por aí. A parte ofensiva a Diego Maradona, porém, não foi cantada pelos dois. Eles ainda soltaram a voz em pagodes conhecidos ao lado de Thiaguinho e foram ovacionados pelo público presente com gritos de “É campeão!”, “Ah, Renato Augusto” e “Olê, olê, olê, olá, Neymar, Neymar”. Outro canto entoado por Neymar e companhia foi “ô, o imperador voltou”! Com uma toca à lá Ronaldinho Gaúcho na cabeça, Adriano foi homenageado pelos jogadores, os cumprimentou e logo saiu do palco, deixando claro que “hoje o dia é deles”. O encontro foi exaltado pelo cantor, que se empolgou.

Thiaguinho, amigo de Neymar, cantou quase o show todo – que durou pouco mais de duas horas – com a medalha de ouro do amigo no peito. Na parte final do show, ele acumulou duas medalhas douradas no peito. O também amigo Bruninho, do vôlei, apareceu na festa para comemorar o ouro conquistado pela seleção de vôlei contra a Itália.
Por fim, Thiaguinho homenageou os “meninos de ouro” com uma declaração e com uma música nova que fala sobre amizade. O grupo de nomes galáticos estava dividido entre os seis camarotes da casa. Todos lotados de amigos e convidados de Thiaguinho, Rafinha, entre outros.

What’s the latest?

According to YorkshireLive, Owls centre-back Chey Dunkley is facing ‘another spell on the sidelines’ after picking up a hamstring injury in training last week.

Indeed, the towering 29-year-old was a notable absentee on Sunday as Darren Moore’s side suffered a seventh successive defeat at the hands of league leaders Norwich City.

Whilst it remains to be seen how severe the issue is, hamstring problems can take several weeks to heal fully, so it would be a surprise to see him involved this evening as Wednesday host arch-rivals Huddersfield Town at Hillsborough Stadium.

Big blow for Moore

The Owls currently sit second from bottom, some seven points adrift of safety and of Birmingham City, who sacked their manager last week.

Tonight’s opposition aren’t too far away from being drawn into the dogfight either as the Terriers occupy 18th place, so tonight’s result is a crucial one for both teams but especially for Moore.

His new side need to start picking up points otherwise they might as well be planning for life in League One, at this rate.

And without Dunkley, the 46-year-old’s task gets even harder because the former Oxford and Wigan powerhouse has been one of the only shining lights in this miserable season.

In terms of average WhoScored rating for the current campaign, Dunkley ranks fifth (6.68), where he has proven to be the best centre-back at the club for reading the game having averaged two interceptions per game.

That sort of presence will be vital in thwarting the opposition, though that is something Moore is going to be without tonight.

He’s not just a colossal presence to have at the back either as he can chip in with goals too – at Wigan, he found the net 13 times. Only three Owls players have scored more than three goals this season, and they’re all forwards.

Speaking about his aerial ability and threat, former Latics teammate Sam Morsy lauded Dunkley “unbelievable” and claimed he was “lethal” in one to one situations, so his interception returns are now hardly a surprise.

Evidently, Moore could do with a player like Dunkley right now. He must find a way to stop the rot, and without the £10k-per-week beast, it’s a massive blow to his chances of doing so.

With only 11 games to play, the Yorkshire giants need him back sooner rather than later.

Liverpool may have provided a huge summer transfer clue with their reported interest in Sheffield United’s Sander Berge.

According to EuroSport, the Reds are interested in bringing the Norwegian midfielder to Anfield in what could be a sign of their intentions to replace Georginio Wijnaldum.

The Dutch midfielder’s future on Merseyside remains up in the air with his contract set to expire at the end of the season and Barcelona reportedly remaining interested in swooping for his services on a free transfer.

That decision may have already been made though, hence the Reds’ interest in Berge.

It is no surprise when looking into their statistics to find that the duo are extremely similar players as box-to-box midfielders. Surprisingly, even during a horrendous season for his team that looks inevitable to conclude with a return to the Championship, Berge is out-performing the current Liverpool man in some areas.

According to WhoScored, the 24-cap Norwegian international is averaging 1.6 tackles and 0.8 interceptions per game for club and country throughout 2020/21. Meanwhile, Wijnaldum is averaging just 0.8 on both counts in all competitions on both the club and international stage.

Meanwhile, the 23-year-old is more than matching Wijnaldum from an attacking point of view, too. He is equaling the Dutchman’s shots per game at 0.9, whilst edging ahead in key passes with 0.8 to 0.7.

It’s on the ball and drifting past opponents where Berge is excelling though, racking up an impressive 1.8 dribbles per game, compared to 1.1 from the current Liverpool man.

Remarkably, their passing statistics are also extremely similar, with Wijnaldum’s understandably better at a 92.3% success rate in the Premier League, whilst Berge’s sits lower at 86.3%. It would be fair to assume though that dragged from the mire of a relegation battle, these numbers would improve.

Considering their similarities pitch then, it could be assumed Berge is being lined up to the Liverpool’s Wijnaldum replacement.

Como a gente tem o apelo mais ofensivo, jogando em casa, a gente tem essa opção com o Robinho em sua posição, colocando o Otero e ganhando também na bola parada.
