Crystal Palace have potentially been handed a huge boost in their search for a new boss thanks to AS Roma.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the Italian giants have opened talks with former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri concerning the prospect of him taking over at the Stadio Olimpico in the summer.

Of course, this would be great news for Steve Parish and the Eagles who have been linked with a move for current Roma manager Paulo Fonseca in the event that Roy Hodgson does not extend his current deal at the club.

The 73-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season so the club could certainly be on the lookout for a new boss come the summer.

Should Sarri actually be taking over at Roma, which would be his first managerial appointment since a solitary season in charge of Juventus, this would then make the process of luring Fonseca to Selhurst Park much easier.

It would also eliminate the need to pay any compensation to the Serie A outfit, an aspect that is sure to be appealing considering the impact that the pandemic has had on the financial situation at the club.

So, whilst the news surrounding a former Chelsea boss might not be all too exhilarating for the Eagles initially, it does actually give them a huge boost in their search for a new first-team manager as Hodgson’s contract continues to tick down.

كشفت تقارير صحفية إنجليزية أن صفقة انتقال لاعب فريق آرسنال بيير إيميريك أوباميانج إلى صفوف ميلان، في موسم الانتقالات الشتوي الحالي مهددة بالفشل.

وارتبط المهاجم الجابوني بخطوة الرحيل عن الجانرز هذا الشهر، بعد سحب شارة القيادة منه بسبب خرق تأديبي في نهاية العام الماضي.

وذكرت تقارير في الفترة الأخيرة أن ناديين سعوديين يتنافسان على الظفر بخدمات أوباميانج، وهما النصر والهلال إلا أن اللاعب يفضل البقاء في أوروبا.

وأبدى ميلان الإيطالي رغبة مماثلة في الظفر بخدمات أوباميانج في فترة الانتقالات الشتوية لهذا العام.

وحسب شبكة “فوتبول إيطاليا”، فإن إدارة ميلان تدرس بالفعل فكرة صفقة أوباميانج ومدى إمكانية إتمامها هذا الشهر.

وأوضحت أنه بالرغم من ذلك، فإن تلك الصفقة مهددة بالفشل بسبب المطالب المالية لـ أوباميانج.

وأشارت إلى أن أوباميانج لا يريد فقط راتب نجم ميلان زلاتان إبراهيموفيتش، بل ضعف ما يتقاضاه السويدي.

ويُعد إبراهيموفيتش أعلى لاعبي ميلان من حيث الراتب، حيث يظفر بـ120 ألف جنيه إسترليني أسبوعيًا.

لكن أوباميانج يريد أكثر من ضعف هذا المبلغ للتخلي عن عقده الحالي في آرسنال، حيث يحصل مع الجانرز على راتب أسبوعي قدره 350 ألف جنيه إسترليني.

Whatever you think of Jorge Mendes and his methods, you can’t help but laud the things he’s done for Wolves.

Since Fosun became involved with the Midlands outfit, they have established a friendly relationship with one of the most powerful football agents in the game.

The club’s manager, Nuno Santo is a client of Mendes’ Gestifute agency while several of their playing staff are also on his books. To name a few, he leads negotiations for the likes of Pedro Neto, Nelson Semedo, Ruben Neves and Fabio Silva.

Ties to Mendes have even led to incredible links regarding a certain Cristiano Ronaldo. His arrival at Molineux is far-fetched but one that shouldn’t have been a few years ago was Bruno Fernandes.

The Manchester United star is one of the super agent’s biggest clients and managed to pave the way for one of the most game-changing transfers the Premier League has seen in recent years.

He was signed for a considerable £47m from Sporting Lisbon but if Mendes had noticed his talent quicker, a move to Wolves could have occurred.

That’s the word of club legend Steve Bull anyway. Speaking exclusively to FFC’s sister site, Transfer Tavern, he said: “I think he went under the radar for [Jorge] Mendes otherwise, I think he would have definitely been on our scale and we definitely would have had him all day long.”

He would have been enthralling capture for Wolves, and Fosun must be cursing Mendes after missing out.

Fernandes is now valued at £81m by Transfermarkt and has become one of the most impressive attacking midfielders in world football.

Evidently, he could have been a real star in this Wolves team. That’s not just because of his antics in terms of creativity and goals, but because of his mentality and leadership.

“Bruno Fernandes is not really a tackler, but he leads by example because he works really hard and he’s brilliant on the ball,” Bryan Robson admitted this week.

“But I always see him talking and shouting to players and he is always either trying to encourage or having a bit of a go at players if they are not in the right position,” the Man United legend added.

Fernandes has very quickly become a star of European football and besides Ronaldo, he is Mendes’ diamond.

The new manager’s first priority when he walks through the door will be to address the futures of a number of individuals at the club.

Kristoffer Ajer has attracted admirers from elsewhere on a repeated basis while Odsonne Edouard has long been tipped to leave. West Ham came calling for the Frenchman in January, while it’s thought that Liverpool are now also interested in his services.

Losing him would be a monumental blow to Celtic’s chances of reclaiming their dominance of Scottish football. Edouard is their top scorer with 20 goals this term, so trying to replace such a prolific forward won’t be easy.

Celtic will need to ensure they have contingency plans in place because those behind the Frenchman in the pecking order aren’t particularly full of goals. Albian Ajeti has just six to his name since joining the Hoops last summer, while Patryk Klimala has three goals all season.

Who will his replacement be?

If Howe is given the Celtic job, the Bhoys could welcome Josh King to Paradise this summer. That’s according to The Sun, who suggested that the 43-year-old will look to make the Norwegian one of his first signings as Hoops manager.

King left Bournemouth for Everton in January on a six-month contract and thus could move on a free transfer when the summer window opens.

Capped 54 times by Norway, the forward has plenty of experience at the top level and has a history of scoring goals in one of the best leagues in world football. The 29-year-old is yet to find the net in Everton colours but has 48 Premier League goals to his name throughout his career.

This season hasn’t been great to King but clearly he is a clever striker with plenty of qualities, and you sense that he could thrive in Scottish football. Like Edouard, he has nice feet and is also powerful, using his robust frame to bustle past opponents.

You only need to heed the words from Vidar Riseth, one of his former teammates, for an indication of what he could bring to Glasgow.

“He has all the attributes any striker needs,” the ex-Hoops player began. “I have played with him and against him and I know all about his qualities. If there is a chance for Celtic to get him then they must take it because he would be an incredible signing for them.

“He’d be a great signing. I am talking about a top striker. He has so many qualities and he has done so well for the national team, too,” he concluded.

There may be an element of bias to Riseth’s words, but reuniting King with Howe could be a masterstroke. In terms of replacing Edouard, there would certainly be worse signings than the 29-year-old.

No Salão Nobre das Laranjeiras, Mário Bittencourt e Ricardo Tenório, candidatos a presidente e vice-presidente, respectivamente, lançaram a chapa “Fluminense me Domina”, que concorrerá à eleição do clube, a ser realizada no dia 26 de novembro. O evento realizado na noite de terça-feira reuniu cerca de 500 pessoas, e teve como destaque o anúncio do projeto do estádio próprio, além da participação de Carlos Alberto Parreira, que será consultor técnico da gestão se a chapa de Bittencourt e Tenório vencer o pleito presidencial.

Além dos candidatos a presidente e vice, a apresentação do projeto do estádio teve a participação de economistas e arquitetos, queapresentaram o estudo de viabilidade da proposta. No projeto, o custo total seria de cerca de R$ 500 milhões e capacidade de 26 mil pessoas, com possibilidade de aumentar para 38 mil lugares. Segundo Bittencourt, já existe a carta de intenção de compra do terreno na Barra da Tijuca, que se tornará viável apenas com a participação de investidores.

Advogado do Fluminense, Mário Bittencourt também já ocupou outros cargos no clube, inclusive na atual gestão do presidente Peter Siemsen, como vice de futebol entre maio de 2014 e fevereiro de 2016. A experiência foi destacada, e Bittencourt afirmou estar pronto para encarar o desafio de ser presidente.

– Sou sócio há mais de 20 anos e profissional há mais de 18. Conheço cada esquina, cada departamento. Entendo que adquiri uma maturidade, estou preparado, desde que tenha ao meu lado pessoas como o Ricardo (Tenório), como o Parreira, que acreditou no nosso projeto e no meu tempo de casa.

Além de Mário Bittencourt, outros quatro nomes anunciaram candidaturas à eleição de novembro: Cacá Cardoso (Flu2050), Pedro Abad (Flusócio), Pedro Trengrouse (FluVerdade) e Celso Barros, sendo este último sem chapa ainda. No entanto, como as chapas só serão oficialmente registradas entre os dias 1º e 15 de novembro, os candidatos ainda podem juntar-se a outros. Bittencourt avaliou a situação inédita de cinco candidatos concorrendo ao pleito no Flu.

-Analisamos o cenário, montamos um projeto sólido, ouvimos quase 600 pessoas… Quando entendemos que tinha um projeto solidificado, resolvemos nos candidatar. Muita coisa ainda acontecerá, são muitas possibilidades. Mas posso dizer que a nossa ideia é de concorrer em novembro com quem quer que seja. Respeito todos. É difícil falar de composições. Queremos disputar a eleição, vencer, e contar com essas pessoas – comentou Mário Bittencourt.

O evento contou a presença de ilustres tricolores e nomes importantes na história do clube, como os ex-jogadores Jair Marinho, Duílio, Paulinho, Ailton, Paulo Victor e Ronald e o ex-presidente Ângelo Chaves. Parreira, ex-técnico do Flu e da Seleção Brasileira, é um dos nomes importantes da chapa “Fluminense me Domina”, e elogiou os projetos apresentados por Mário Bittencourt.

-É um prazer enorme estar aqui hoje, junto com gente que a gente gosta, gente que a gente admira, gente que admira o Fluminense. E eu gostei muito, demais, de muita coisa que vi.Ser presidente de um clube é uma tarefa gigantesca e, Mário, você tem muito trabalho pela frente. No que eu puder ajudar, colaborar, estarei aqui às ordens sempre – declarou Parreira, que será consultor técnico caso Mário Bittencourt seja eleito presidente do Fluminense.
