E Carlos Noval foi apresentado como novo diretor de futebol, ocupando a vaga deixada por Rodrigo Caetano. Velho conhecido no clube, depois de oito anos coordenando a base rubro-negra, Noval falou sobre o possível novo treinador e espera esta definição até o fim de semana.

-Temos que ter uma calma para não se antecipar.Esse deadline temos que definir até o fim de semana – afirmou, sem descartar a efetivação de Maurício Barbieri, hoje treinador-interino:

-Barbieri é muito qualificado, perfil de treinador que gosto muito. Já tentei trazê-lo para a base do Flamengo. É o tipo que gostamos. Ele será avaliado e temos que olhar tudo – completou.

O vice de futebol, Ricardo Lomba, também corroborou com a ideia de Carlos Noval e mostrou sintonia com o novo dirigente para definir o treinador para a sequência de 2018.

-É um processo que tem que definir rápido, mas decidir com frieza e inteligência. Estamos conversando e identificando as características sobre o futuro.Acho que temos tempo para ajustar os problemas que identificamos. Sobre o desafio, Noval se mostrou tranquilo, se diz que conhece muito bem a pressão do que é trabalhar no Flamengo e garantiu que novo treinador terá o perfil que o Fla pede.

– Novo treinador tem que ter o perfil que o Flamengo sempre teve. Vamos ver tudo isso com muita calma ainda. A calma que digo é que o precisamos de um treinador que chegue já ciente das carências desse elenco e que mostre o perfil que buscamos – comentou.

Flower, who made a brief comeback to international cricket during a tour to South Africa in October, accompanied the team to Bangladesh on his first overseas tour since taking up the coaching role.Zimbabwe won the first one-day international at Mirpur by nine runs but then capitulated against Bangladesh’s left-arm spinners to slip to a 3-1 series defeat. Daniel Vettori, however, singled out the second-innings collapse in Hamilton as the reason for New Zealand’s 1-0 series loss against Pakistan.”The reason we lost the series was because of our third innings with the bat in Hamilton,” Vettori said. “I thought we played really well yesterday to give ourselves a chance. We wanted to get a 270 score because we knew that would always be difficult out here, so to set that to win was a good effort.”Misbah-ul-Haq and Younis Khan effectively sealed the series with their second century stand of the game, batting out almost a session and a half to take Pakistan out of danger. Both men made valuable half-centuries: Younis opted to play his strokes for 81 with one eye on a win, and Misbah’s unbeaten 226-ball vigil ensured his side would not surrender the series lead on the last day.”Misbah and Younis was the key partnership,” Vettori said. “They’re obviously very experienced players and they know their game pretty well. The series will be crucial as the teams look to settle their final combinations and build some momentum ahead of the World Cup. It won’t mean much in terms of performance because the grounds and the pitches will be so different [in the World Cup].
