Tottenham Hotspur Now Interested In "Excellent" £15.5m Colossus

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen centre-back Jonathan Tah, who is "pushing" to leave this summer, according to recent reports from Germany.

What's the latest Tottenham transfer news?

Tottenham have identified Leeds United's Robin Koch as a potential summer target, with it recently being reported the German could be available for a cut-price fee following his side's relegation from the Premier League.

Spurs are also plotting a fresh move for Villarreal's Pau Torres, having missed out on the centre-back last summer, but there may well be competition for the 26-year-old's signature, as Aston Villa have also been named as potential suitors.

Back in February, it was reported that the Lilywhites wanted to bring in two new centre-backs, and given that they showed little in the way of improvement defensively, conceding 63 goals last season, it would not be a surprise if multiple new defenders are signed.

Another player now emerging as a potential option for Tottenham is Tah, with BILD reporting that he fits the profile, but his release clause of €18m (£15.5m) will need to be paid before the beginning of July. (via Sport Witness)

The German is "pushing for a change" after spending eight years with Bayer Leverkusen, and his preferred destination is the Premier League, which could potentially open the door for a move to north London.

Spurs are interested in the 27-year-old, however, the signing mayy have to wait until chairman Daniel Levy appoints a new director of football and manager.

Should Tottenham sign Jonathan Tah?

Hailed as "excellent" by journalist Josh Bunting, the Hamburg-born defender has a wealth of experience playing in Europe, making 58 appearances across the Champions League and Europa League, and he rarely misses a game for Leverkusen.

Across the past two seasons, the defender has been absent for just two league games, highlighting his importance to the German side, and he ranked highly for some key defensive metrics in the Bundesliga last season.

The 6 foot 5 giant averaged 3.5 clearances per game, the highest number of any player in the Leverkusen squad, while an average of 1.2 interceptions places him third, and he also recorded the best pass-completion rate.

Given his level of experience playing in Europe, and his proven defensive aptitude, Tah could be a solid signing for Tottenham this summer, particularly considering he will cost just £15.5m, should the release clause be paid before the start of July.

Romelu Lukaku Makes Big Inter Milan Mistake In UCL Final

Fans online have been left stunned after Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku accidentally blocked an effort at goal off the line in the Champions League final.

What’s the latest on Man City?

Playing in Istanbul, Manchester City were hoping to complete a treble, having already won both the Premier League and the FA Cup this season.

Their opponents, however, were seeking a double with Simone Inzaghi’s men already lifting the Coppa Italia earlier on in their campaign.

Pep Guardiola and co came into the game favourites but Inter probably had the better first half, with the most notable incident being an injury that forced Kevin de Bruyne off early.

However, the game burst into life when Rodri struck an opener in the 68th minute of the game to put City into a 1-0 lead – which was ultimately enough to win the game.

Less than two minutes after that goal, though, Inter came forward with an attack and Federico Dimarco’s header looped over Ederson and bounced off the bar and back into the six-yard box.

The Italian then had another attempt at goal, and it looked as though his header was destined for the back of the net, only for Lukaku to inadvertently block it on the line.

You can see the footage on the BT Sport Football Twitter account below.

After witnessing the crazy incident, fans online couldn’t believe what had happened. They quickly flocked to social media to make their feelings known.

Here are the best reactions…

He’s even got previous of doing this before…

To make things worse, Lukaku then missed a sitter with just moments to play.

Wolves: Lopetegui could capture "world-class" Moutinho heir at Molineux

Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly interested in a La Liga ace, if reports regarding their transfer activities are to be believed.

With the transfer window officially opening yesterday, Julen Lopetegui faces the challenge of making adequate reinforcements to his side white adhering to financial constraints following Wolves’ Financial Fair Play (FFP) concerns.

Putting financial woes aside, Molineux could see a new face this summer, with the latest link posing as a significant upgrade to Lopetegui’s current midfield.

What’s the latest on Geoffrey Kondogbia to Wolves?

As reported earlier this week by Turkish outlet Taktik Mania (via journalist Berk Bekgoz), Wolves are expected to ‘meet with’ Atletico Madrid ace Geoffrey Kondogbia.

The news was relayed by Express and Star Wolves correspondent Liam Keen, who stated that the club are ‘considering’ making a move for the 30-year-old.

Links between the club and the player have been ongoing since January, as revealed by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, who claimed the Midlands club approached Kondogbia during the winter window.

What could Geoffrey Kondogbia offer to Wolves?

Ranking in the top 1% of midfielders in Europe in terms of interceptions made per 90 (2.41), the Central African Republic international has maintained his status as one of the stand-out defensive midfielders.

Despite only making 10 starts for Atletico this season in LaLiga, the 30-year-old powerhouse has kept his form intact, as shown by his high average of 62% of total duels won in the competition with an average of 3.8 per game, via Sofascore.

With 397 professional appearances under his belt, via Transfermarkt, the midfielder’s vast experience could be vital for Lopetegui’s midfield that will be forced into transitioning to cover the vacancy left behind by departing stalwart Joao Moutinho.

The Portuguese veteran has played his final season at Molineux following the expiration of his contract, after spending five years at the club.

Having been hailed as a ‘midfield maestro’ by his club, the 36-year-old will be sorely missed in the Midlands, however, his on-field efforts could be taken over by the capable hands of Kondogbia.

The £107k-per-week machine, who was once lauded as “world-class” by talent scout Jacek Kulig, has operated at a more impressive level than the departing star as told when comparing their statistics over the past year.

As per FBref, the Atletico brute averages 3.51 tackles per 90 with Moutinho falling short of the Molineux target in this area with an average of 2.58 per 90.

A similar pattern is highlighted in their passing attributes, with the Nemours-born star maintaining an audacious pass completion rate of 88.7% with an average of 61.71 passes attempted per 90, via FBref.

To put into perspective the calibre of player Wolves could replace the Portuguese legend with, Moutinho averages only 53.44 attempted passes per 90, with a completion rate of 80.4%.

Lopetegui may not have the capacity to spend big this summer, given the club's FFP issues, but Fosun and co must aim to make improvements after a disappointing campaign that steered towards relegation at times.

The Spanish head coach could, therefore, replenish his midfield following Moutinho’s departure with the experience and quality of Kondogbia.

Celtic: Desmond Eyeing "World-Class" 4-2-3-1 Manager at Parkhead

An update has emerged on Celtic and their efforts to find a new first-team manager after Ange Postecoglou's departure earlier this month…

What's the latest on Daniel Farke to Celtic?

According to the Daily Mail, former Borussia Monchengladbach head coach Daniel Farke is one of the names that Dermot Desmond has under consideration for the job, alongside Brendan Rodgers and Kjetil Knutsen.

The report claims that the ex-Norwich manager has thrown his hat into the ring after he left his post in the Bundesliga at the end of the 2022/23 campaign.

This comes after Sky's Florian Plettenberg reported that the Hoops held initial talks with the German boss, who is also wanted by English side Leeds United, over replacing Postecoglou.

What is Daniel Farke's style of play?

The 44-year-old coach typically deploys a 4-2-3-1 formation that requires building out from the back and line-breaking passing across the pitch to create attacks and this could spell bad news for Joe Hart.

Celtic's current number one was ditched by Premier League giants Manchester City as Pep Guardiola did not trust his distribution skills and he could befall a similar fate under Farke if Desmond decides to go with the German tactician.

Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart.

Experienced goalkeeper Ralf Fahrmann appeared to suffer a similar fate during his short-lived stint in Norfolk whilst the ex-Borussia Dortmund reserve coach was in England.

Prior to joining the Canaries on loan from Schalke in 2019, the German shot-stopper had never completed more than 69.3% of his passes over the course of a season and made four errors that directly led to a shot or a goal through poor distribution in the Bundesliga in the 2018/19 campaign.

He was unable to dislodge Tim Krul from Farke's starting line-up as the Dutchman went on to play 36 times in the Premier League during the 2019/20 campaign and only made one error.

The towering 6 foot 6 colossus then completed 77% of his attempted passes and made two errors that led to a shot or goal in 36 Championship matches the following term.

This indicates that Farke, who was hailed as a "world-class" coach by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, preferred the former Newcastle United titan between the sticks as he made fewer mistakes with the ball at his feet and completed a higher percentage of his passes.

Hart, therefore, could be in trouble as the 36-year-old made four blunders that led to shots in the Scottish Premiership and one mistake in six Champions League outings last season.

Such errors in goal and previous issues with distribution could put Farke off wanting the 6 foot 5 shot-stopper to be his no.1 at Celtic, based on his style of play and the battle between Fahrmann and Krul, and that is why his appointment could be terrible news for the ex-England international.

Man Utd Could Land Roy Keane 2.0 In "Aggressive" £35m Ace

As Manchester United plot to strengthen ahead of next season, one priority area that Erik ten Hag looks set to target is the midfield ranks, with a new, more youthful addition needed to help bolster an ageing pool of talent.

With the likes of Fred, Casemiro and Christian Eriksen all in their thirties, the former Ajax boss appears to be keen to find a longer-term option in the centre of the park, with the aim of kicking on from a largely positive first season in charge at Old Trafford.

According to Football Insider, one man who has reportedly caught the eye of the Dutchman is Leeds United maestro, Tyler Adams, with the 24-year-old – who joined the Yorkshire side on a £20m deal from RB Leipzig last summer – potentially set to be up for grabs for a fee in excess of £35m.

As 90min also reported, the United States international is among those who are likely to leave Elland Road prior to the start of next term, following the club's recent return to the Championship.

Would Tyler Adams be a good signing for Man United?

Despite being part of a side that slipped to relegation in 2022/23, Adams had previously been an "instrumental" figure for the Whites prior to his frustrating injury blow in March, as per pundit Kevin Campbell, having been something of a "tackling machine" at the base of the midfield.

The signing of the 5 foot 9 ace – who ranked joint-fourth in the division for tackles made last season despite his lengthy absence – could then represent a real coup for Ten Hag, with the 53-year-old able to benefit greatly from Leeds' drop into the second tier.

It would not be the first time that United have astutely snapped up a newly-relegated midfielder in the Premier League era, with legendary boss Sir Alex Ferguson having signed Roy Keane on a £3.75m deal from Nottingham Forest back in 1993, following the Garibaldi's tumble out of the top flight.

A tough-tackling presence, like Adams, the iconic Irishman would go on to win seven league titles, four FA Cups and the Champions League, among other major honours, over the next 11 years or so, captaining the side for much of his time at the club.

Also an "inspirational" leader – according to fellow treble winner Gary Neville – Keane would prove a hard act to try and emulate as far as Adams is concerned, albeit with the latter man also something of a leader in his own right, having been described as "the general" by national team boss, Gregg Berhalter.

Equally, like Keane – who was a notoriously fierce operator having picked up seven red cards in his Premier League career – the Leeds man also appears to have a much-needed edge to his game, having been described as "aggressive" by the aforementioned Campbell.

Those shared traits should indicate that Adams could prove to be Keane 2.0 if he does also make that move from a relegated outift to the Theatre of Dreams.

Chelsea Set To Open Talks Over £90m-Rated Midfielder

Chelsea are now looking to up their pursuit of the Ecuador midfielder Moises Caicedo this week, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Will Brighton sell Caicedo this summer?

The west London side could see some major changes at Stamford Bridge over the course of the summer with the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino in recent weeks.

And one change could come in midfield with the potential departure of Mason Mount to Manchester United.

It is believed the Blues are looking to bring in a fee in the region of £65m for their homegrown 24-year-old this summer.

Amid reports of Mount's potential exit, it is believed they are keen to add to their midfield this summer with Caicedo a player who has been heavily linked.

The Brighton midfielder has been linked with a potential move away from the south coast for a number of months now with Arsenal also credited with an interest.

Despite putting pen to paper on a new deal after the January interest, it is believed Caicedo has been promised by Roberto De Zerbi and the Seagulls that he can leave this summer.

And speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano has claimed the Blues are now set to up their negotiations with Brighton to secure the services of the 21-year-old:

"Exclusive information. Chelsea are now starting the negotiations for Moises Caicedo. It will happen this week, let's see if today [Wednesday]/tomorrow but it's direct negotiation now Chelsea Brighton for Moises Caicedo. Direct club-to-club negotiation. So we wait for the bid, we wait for a direct conversation. We know that personal terms are not an issue."

How much is Moises Caicedo worth?

The Londoners could be set to receive a healthy sum of money over the coming weeks with the potential sale of Mount.

And it is worth considering the fact the Seagulls will be well aware of the financial power behind a club like Chelsea.

Todd Bohely and co spent massively over the course of last season and have already made a number of sales this summer to bring in some money and relieve their wage bill.

It is believed Brighton have set a £90m valuation on their Ecuadorean this summer if they are to allow him to leave.

And they certainly sit in the driving seat in any negotiations this summer with the player now having signed a new deal to take his stay up until 2027.

However, the midfielder is seemingly keen to move on to bigger things with him previously showing a desire to leave in the January transfer window.

Although Brighton are believed to be open to allowing him leave over the coming weeks, it is apparent they will not be willing to allow Chelsea to get a bargain for the midfielder.

Everton: Backed to sign "fantastic" star who "can bring goals"

Everton could look to sign Leeds United winger Jack Harrison during the summer transfer window, according to journalist Ryan Taylor.

Is Harrison expected to leave Leeds?

The Whites were relegated from the Premier League, going down on the final day of the campaign, while the Blues just about did enough to remain in the division. It means Leeds could find it difficult to keep hold of some of their most talented and highly-rated players, with many of them not liking the idea of playing in the Championship.

The £60,000-a-week-earning Harrison could well be one of those, considering the Englishman has been key performer for a number of years at Elland Road, scoring 34 goals and registering 32 assists in 206 appearances to date.

There is likely to be Premier League interest that comes his way, and with Everton eyeing up new faces in the summer window, it looks as though they could be in the mix to snap him up.

Could Everton swoop to sign Harrison?

Speaking to Give Me Sport, Taylor talked up the idea of Harrison trading Elland Road for Goodison Park before the 2023/24 season gets underway:

"I do think so. If I'm Everton, I want to have more goals in my team. I think that's been their biggest issue. I know they had the 5-1 win at Brighton, which was incredible, but a lot of their wins last season were 1-0 and gritty. They need to be scoring more.

"Under Roberto Martinez, when Everton finished fifth, they were a free-scoring team that used to score threes and fours at Goodison every other week. I think the goals need to come back and Harrison is a player that can bring goals to the party from wide areas."

Harrison could be an excellent signing by Everton this summer, considering he still managed 12 goal contrbutions (five goals and seven assists) in the league last term, despite Leeds' constant struggles.

The 26-year-old would bring end product and also a good work ethic to Sean Dyche's team, and the fact that he could potentially play both out wide and in an attacking midfield role could also appeal to the manager, in terms of versatility and squad depth.

Harrison is at the right age to come in and make an immediate impression, remaining in his peak years for the foreseeable future, and he has also been described as "fantastic" by YouTuber Conor McGilligan in the past 12 months.

Wolves Keen On "Exceptional" Star in "Refurb"

Wolverhampton Wanderers will face 'competition' in their bid to sign Bristol City midfielder Alex Scott and the youngster would be an 'exceptional' piece of business by the Old Gold, according to journalist Dean Jones.

What's the latest transfer news involving Alex Scott?

According to The Athletic's Steve Madeley, Scott is a target for Wolves this summer as Julen Lopetegui looks to add some flair to his side ahead of next term.

Nevertheless, the journalist detailed that any deal to bring Scott to Molineux could be a difficult one to pull off financially, stating: “Bristol City’s Alex Scott, who can play as a No. 8 or a No.10, remains on Wolves’ shopping list but, with the Guernsey-born playmaker valued at around £25m, it remains to be seen whether they can find enough flexibility in the budget to pursue a deal.”

Football Insider claim that West Ham United are also keen on Scott as David Moyes looks to add midfield depth to build on the Hammers' Europa Conference League triumph last term.

talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook has revealed that Brighton & Hove Albion were interested in Scott, though their hopes now look to have come to an end of landing the Guernsey-born ace. Crook said on Twitter: "BHAFC also not in the running for Alex Scott at current valuation nor Scott McTominay."

Liverpool, Brighton, Brentford, Leeds United, Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest, Sheffield United, Atalanta, Bologna, Monaco, Bologna and RB Leipzig were all rumoured to be monitoring Scott's situation back in April, as per 90min.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, journalist Jones has indicated that Wolves may try to haggle a lower fee to bring Scott to Molineux this summer.

Jones said: "Wolves are interested in Alex Scott, but it goes without saying they have hot competition to beat off if they are to actually sign him.

"They will also have to negotiate around the asking price. That £25million price point hasn’t moved, but it’ll be interesting to see if they can stick to it.

"Coventry’s star man Viktor Gyokeres is in the process of a transfer worth around £20million – and he was pretty much the best and most coveted player in the Championship – so I think that might end up being used to try to get the price down a little on Scott so that Bristol City eventually budge. But who knows if they actually will?

"Scott would be an exceptional signing. He really does have high levels to strive to, and he totally should be the type of talent you target when undergoing a refurb like the one Wolves are going through."

Will Wolverhampton Wanderers be able to beat off competition to sign Alex Scott?

It's hard to say at this point, but Wolves fending off competition from several other sides to bring Scott to Molineux would have to be considered as a major coup due to his enormous potential.

The England Under-20 international has a high ceiling and was an instrumental asset for Bristol City last campaign, registering two goals and five assists in 49 appearances across all competitions, as per Transfermarkt.

Alex Scott West Ham target

As cited by Sky Sports, Scott was Bristol City's most productive player in 2022/23, fashioning 38 chances for his teammates over the course of the season.

Scott also completed 1.1 dribbles per match on average in the Sky Bet Championship, demonstrating his ability to drive to regularly drive at opposition defenses, according to WhoScored.

It is unsurprising that interest in Scott's services is widespread and Wolves boss Lopetegui will hope to convince the youngster that the best place to continue his development is at Molineux.

Rangers Aim To Sign Teenage Sensation

Last summer, Glasgow Rangers swooped to sign Millwall starlet Zak Lovelace as Giovanni van Bronckhorst looked like he was focusing on youth talent in order to fill out the academy squads and ensuring the Ibrox side had a plethora of teen gems ready to be plucked from the B side when ready over the coming years.

Lovelace made his Millwall debut aged just 15, becoming the second-youngest player to represent the club in their history during a substitute appearance against Coventry City in December 2021 and made another four appearances for the club, which prompted the Gers to make their move once the season finished.

It was a successful 2022/23 season for the 17-year-old, with the added pressure of trying to make an impression in the B team, he scored 18 goals in all competitions while grabbing another ten assists and was even given his first team bow against Queen of the South in August during a League Cup tie.

His performances obviously impressed Michael Beale, as he was given a two minute cameo against Celtic during their excellent 3-0 win in May and the future looks bright for the England U17 international.

With Beale clearly trying to lower the age of the Rangers side, releasing players such as Scott Arfield (34), Allan McGregor (41) and Filip Helander (30) upon the expiration of their contracts, a focus on youth could pay dividends over the next few years.

With this in mind, the Light Blues have been linked with a move for former West Ham United starlet Divine Mukasa according to the Secret Scout, who claims that the youngster has “visited Rangers and Newcastle United” after he left the London side recently.

He confirmed via Instagram he was departing and posted a heartfelt message, saying: “Thank you to all the players and staff at West Ham that have helped to develop me into both the player and person that I am today.

“This club has been my home for the past 10 years and for it to come to an end is bittersweet, but it’s time to move on to the next chapter of my career.”

Who is Divine Mukasa?

The 15-year-old midfielder would be hoping to follow in the same trajectory as Lovelace by moving to Rangers at such a young age, yet he does have pedigree at U16 level, especially for his country.

He has made nine appearances for the England U16 side, scoring three goals, and grabbing one assist during those matches, netting against Scotland, and he certainly showcased his attacking abilities by being deployed just behind the striker.

Zak Lovelace

It’s evident he has a keen eye for goal, and he even managed to register two goal contributions during the U18 Premier League last term, playing against players two years older and this maturity has could entice Beale into luring him to Rangers.

The Ibrox side are trying to add some of the finest talents from South of the border to their academy and by convincing Mukasa that a move to Scotland would be the best for his development, Beale could repeat Rangers’ Lovelace masterclass from 2022.

"Bad News" – Reporter drops Man United takeover claim

The latest delay in the Manchester United takeover saga could be 'bad news' for all parties according to journalist Ben Jacobs.

It has been nearly eight months since the Glazer family announced that they would "explore strategic alternatives" however no agreement has been reached with any prospective buyers.

Who is likely to take over Manchester United?

There have been two major frontrunners in the United takeover process.

Sheikh Jassim and the Nine Two Foundation have submitted five offers to buy the club from the American family, with a recent update being that following their fifth bid, if his offer was not accepted by Friday, June 9th, he would be withdrawing from the process.

It then seemed for a number of weeks that the Qatari had been successful with his final bid, with news released about PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi helping both sides of the process. Shortly following that, a newspaper owned by Sheikh Jassim's father Sheikh Hamad tweeted that the Qatari bid for United had been successful according to “press reports”. Reuters also weighed on, stating that the club were in exclusivity talks with the Nine Two Foundation, however since then, it has gotten quiet.

The other major contender to earn stewardship of the Red Devils is INEOS, with the bid headed by chairman and Manchester United fan Sir Jim Ratcliffe. Most recently with Ratcliffe, journalist Kieran Maguire suggested that the billionaire could turn his attention towards Spanish giants Barcelona due to the uncertainty with the situation at Old Trafford.

The big difference between Sheikh Jassim's bid and Sir Jim Ratcliffe's bid is that the British billionaire's bid isn't for 100% of the club. Due to the fact that the Glazers would maintain some stake in United, the INEOS bid was seen as the favourite for a number of weeks until Sheikh Jassim's fifth bid. Since then, there have been doubts about whether Sir Jim Ratcliffe's offer could leave the Glazer family with a lot of litigation to deal with for years to come from the institutional investors who own 31% of the club.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Jacobs revealed that he believes the takeover will not be completed until the late stages of the transfer window, which is disappointing for both Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim, who were hoping to make a strong start in the market: "The good news for +United is that they have been able to move in the transfer market, which was always the case regardless of any prospective new owner. But the bad news for Manchester United, in terms of the long-term clarity, is that the window could potentially close or be very close to closing before any prospective new owner – should they come in – has any influence.

That may not impact the plan coming into this window, as far as the current Manchester United recruitment team are concerned, but it's highly frustrating to both Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe because when they first started this process, they were very much planning around being able to impact this window. Now it doesn't look like that's going to be able to be the case."

Who are Manchester United looking to sign?

Due to the uncertain ownership situation as well as potential FFP problems, reports have stated that the Red Devils are operating within a strict budget this summer.

The club have already completed the signing of Mason Mount from Chelsea in a deal that could reach £60m, and they are looking to seal deals for both a new number one as well as a new number nine.

Inter goalkeeper Andre Onana.

According to Fabrizio Romano, United are on the verge of completing the signing of Inter Milan shot-stopper Andre Onana. The Cameroon international previously worked under manager Erik ten Hag at Ajax, and would come straight into the starting spot following club legend David de Gea's departure this summer.

On the striker front, Atalanta's Rasmus Hojlund is reportedly the priority target for the club, however, the two sides remain apart on their valuation of the Danish forward, with the Italian side wanting a fee in the region of £60m.

The club will be hoping to have all their transfer deals, and potentially even the long-awaited takeover completed by the time they kick off their Premier League season at Old Trafford against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
